fuel cards

Blackbushe Airport does not work with fuel intermediaries or accept fuel releases or fuel cards. All fuel must be paid prior to departure, unless a credit account has been agreed.

We do not offer discounts on fuel to third party resellers or intermediaries, you will always get the lowest price on fuel with us directly.

REFUELLING EQUIPMENT

Fuelling for 100LL and UL91 is at a fixed pump. The Blackbushe Fire Crew will conduct refuelling for all aircraft but only once the aircraft is shut down and all occupants are outside of the aircraft.

Bowser refuelling is available for 100LL on request, but is limited to helicopters, and aircraft which are too large to be comfortably accommodated at the pumps.

Jet-A1 refuelling is by bowser, and can be provided overwing or underwing.

Fuelling is available from 08:00 until 18:00 daily, at other times on request.

Sustainable Aviation Fuel

The government’s Jet Zero strategy aims to deliver net zero aviation by 2050. The aviation industry is challenged with delivering this target, and there is rapid development being made in alternative fuels.

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is made from feedstocks such as used cooking oil or household waste. This production results in a reduction of up to 80% in the lifecycle carbon emissions than traditional jet fuel. It’s benefit is that it is a drop-in fuel when blended with a small amount of traditional jet fuel, requiring no upgrade in fueling infrastructure or aircraft.

Production of the fuel within the UK and Europe is growing. Whilst Blackbushe does not have dedicated SAF storage or delivery infrastructure, we have options to provide SAF to aircraft refuelling at Blackbushe, either by delivering the required quantity as a drop-in to our existing JET-A1 infrastructure, or by offsetting this delivery elsewhere in the supply chain. If you are interested in using SAF in your aircraft, please contact us for more information and pricing.

ELECTRIC AIRCRAFT CHARGING

Blackbushe is one of the first airports in the UK equipped to recharge light electric aircraft. The Pipistrel Velis Electro is the world’s first electric powered airplane to receive a Type Certificate. The two-seater, intended primarily for pilot training, is a game-changing aircraft in terms of technological innovations and cost-efficiency. Velis Electro can be operated commercially and is fully approved for pilot training as well as other operations.

If you’re an operator, or are considering purchasing a Velis Electro, contact us to learn about the opportunities to base it at Blackbushe.
