Blackbushe needs investment to allow it to compete but, more importantly, there is clear demand in the small private aircraft market for improved maintenance and hangarage facilities. Providing these would assist in rationalising and upgrading Blackbushe, and offer additional job opportunities.
The scale of change is modest and would not create environmental harm.
The intention is to implement Phase 1 over the next 4-5 years and Phase 2 over the following 5 years. The new administrative and passenger facility and café is a key priority along with the start of a gradual process of providing additional hangar accommodation.
